Changes in Basketball Schedule

Please not the following changes in our Varsity Basketball Schedule: The December 17th games with Notasulga, scheduled to be played at Notasulga, have been rescheduled for Monday, January 4th and will be played here at VHS beginning at 2:00 PM. The January 18th games that were scheduled to be played at VHS will now be played at Notasulga on the 18th beginning at 2:00 PM. These schedule changes were necessary for two reasons – The Macon County Christmas Program on December 17 and construction and renovation of the Notasulga gym. We have also asked that Loachapoka plan to play the games scheduled on January 7 as early as possible because of the National Championship football game scheduled for that night. As of this date those games will begin at 5:00 PM.

VHS Christmas Tournament

Basketball at VHS is showing a different side than over the past many years. On December 18, 19, and 21, the first Verbena Christmas Classic will take place in our gym. Six boys teams will be here each night - Montgomery Catholic, St. Bernard, Fayetteville, Jemison, Westminister, and VHS. There will be three games per night as shown on the following schedule: Friday: 4:00 Montgomery Catholic plays St. Bernard, 5:30 Fayetteville plays Jemison, 7:00 Westminister plays VHS. Saturday: 1:00 St. Bernard plays Fayetteville, 2:30 Jemison plays Westminister, 4:00 Verbena plays Montgomery Catholic. Monday: 4:00 Fayetteville plays Westminister, 5:30 Montgomery Catholic plays Jemison, 7:00 St. Bernard plays Verbena. admission for each night will be $5.00 and you can see all three games. If you haven't seen our boys play you are in for a treat. They are the best hustling and hardest playing group I have seen for some time. I hope to see you at the tournament.
